- Shimonada Station is one of the most visited scenic train station in Japan. It is famous because it's the closest station to the sea. The station is very small with no staff but always full of tourists and photographers taking nice shots for leisure and for advertisement.
- I run from a station before Shimonada, which is Iyo-Kaminada Station, the running path is along route 378, all the way along seaside.
- Highly recommend for sunset run, you will be amazed how beautiful it could be. There is a small coffee shop behind Shimonada Station, remember to get one and take a picture for Instagram!
I took a train from Matsuyama, and arrived start point Iyo Kaminada Station.
Iyo Kaminada Station is small and there is no convenience store nearby, so it's better you get prepared for supplements & drink if you plan for a longer run.
Iyo Kaminada Station is on a gentle slope, so you have to walk down passing by old houses to the seaside.
This is the road, route 378 which is along seaside with nice sunset view.
I started to run here. In Ehime Prefecture, they have very well organized cycling route, you can see the blue mark, and runner can follow the same route too.
This route allows you to run very close to the sea, and the sea is very clear and blue too.
Passing a man fishing under the sun, very harmonious.
surprisingly passed by a fuijinohana flower tent, I love the purple color and the movement they had when the breeze came.
Am I running in my dream? It's so beautiful.
it's a bit dangerous to run next to car along seaside, so sometimes I returned to the pedestrian path on the other side.
The sun was coming down well enough to let us see it clearly. Route 378 is such a nice sunset route.
About to arrive Shimonada Station, saw a pair of couple waiting for the sunset moment.
While I run along the seaside route 378, I almost didn't notice I arrived Shimonada Station already! As the station is a bit up on the hill, so you might not notice it. But when you see a bunch of people gathering, you know you arrive.
I made it to the final point, and I made it before sunset! Feel So Good!
After the run, I waited one hour for the next train back to Matsuyama, but I didn't feel bored at all, this place is magical.
