- highly recommended for spring sakura blossom season around late March.

- extremely accessible from Fukuoka city centre - Tenjin, good for easy short run in the morning.

- you may extend your run to Ohori Park, which is just next to Maizuru Park, there is a very systematic 2km jogging course along the lake.

I started my run from my hotel in Tenjin, which is very close to Mitsukoshi Department Store. From Watanabe Dori Street, turn right into Kokutai Road.

Passing by a famous motsu nabe restaurant "Rakutenchi" on Kokutai Road.

Sakura tree along the street near Fukuoka Chuo Ward Civic Centre.

Passing by the East Entrance of Maizuru Park, I didn't entre from here, I kept running to the main entrance.

beautiful city scenery with sakura blossom along the path.

the sakura balls are so cute and it's so nice to run under them along Meiji Dori Street.

Let's have a close up of the cute sakura flowers, some are pink, some are white, so cute.

Turn left and entre Maizuru Park / Fukuoka Castle.

The gentle uphill slope feels so easy when passing the pink sakura tunnel.

There will be sakura festival during daytime and evening, it's too early for them to open in the morning though.

The lovely roadsign of Fukuoka castle.

such a harmonic scene, beautiful morning with sakura and old castle.

Running towards the Fukuoka Castle observatory deck, again with sakura shade.

There will be lightup at night, unfortunately I missed it this time.

Entering the inner garden of Fukuoka castle.

Let's go up to the castle remains and see what's the view from there!

This is the view to run for, when you arrived the top of the observatory deck of Fukuoka castle, it's a spread of sakura sea, with Fukuoka city view at the backdrop. So Nice!

coming down from the castle, started to see some tourists doing morning sightseeing.

Passing by one of the most beautiful sakura trees, the sakura hanging down and dancing with the breeze.

The view of the castle from a downhill path.

Coming back to Kokutai Road and on the way back to hotel.

There are beautiful sakura blossom along the street as well.

Apart from sakura, there are also beautiful tulip planted along the street, such a nice road!

back to hotel room after 5km morning run, breakfast were Fukuoka famous Amao strawberries with my favourite oden, before going to the airport for noontime flight back to Hong Kong.
