Time: 3:00pm

Weather: 10C partly sunny

Distance: 5km / oneway

Course type: seaside pedestrian path

Elevation: 35m, gentle up-downs

Traffic Light: around 5

Start Point: Tsunoshima Bridge

Access: 30 mins by bus from JR Kottoi Station

Comments:

- Originally I wanted to run across the bridge from the main island side, however there is no pedestrian path on the bridge and the traffic was quite heavy during daytime, so I took a bus to cross the bridge and started running on Tsunoshima side.

- The public transport network to this island is not very developed, so it's a bit remote for access. The closest train station is called Kottoi, and there is a bus going to Tsunoshima but only a few schedule per day. The bus ride is around 30min.

- Started with a seaside run along the south coast, then entering the small town, then go uphill a bit to the north west coast, where you will see beautiful coastline with lighthouse.

This is the closest train station Kottoi, there is no station staff, an extremely small and remote station along the JR San-in Line.

After around 20 minutes bus ride, I arrived Tsunoshima Bridge, which is a popular sightseeing spot.

Lovely little purple flowers along the seaside path.

There was very few traffic on the seaside path, so it's comfortable to run here.

Opposite to the beach is the Tsunoshima Secondary School.

Approaching the small town on the island.

In the centre of the town, there is a small port, where you will see a piece of green land close to the water, they are extremely fresh seaweed on the ground.

Passing by the nicely built post office.

After passing the small town, gentle uphill path crossing to the other side of the island.

Arriving the north coast of Tsunoshima Island, which is the main sightseeing part.

Running downhill towards the lighthouse.

Entrance of the lighthouse, with some tourists nearby.

The view of the lighthouse from another angle, this is the path closest to the north coast.

Really nice seaside running path along the north coast.

Arriving to the terrace where the TV drama starring Kimura Takuya was filmed.

This might be the most instagrammable spot of Tsunoshima Island, especially during sunset. This is where I finished the run, and took a bus back to Kottoi Station.
